Charities

ShareGift distributes the proceeds of donated shares to a wide range of UK registered charities. Since our launch in 1996, we have given away millions of pounds to hundreds of different charities, covering a vast area of local, national and international work. ShareGift can support any kind of charitable work, anywhere in the world, so long as the organisation receiving the donations has UK registered status. Our donations are made as unrestricted funding and charities may choose to put donations received towards their core costs if they wish.

ShareGift’s donations are made at our Trustees’ discretion and we do not accept applications for funding. However, when considering charities for future ShareGift donations, our Trustees do survey the charitable interests of our supporters - our share donors and other organisations who help us to create the pool of money we give away. Donors are therefore welcome to suggest a charity, or area of charitable work for our consideration, when sending in their shares. The list of charities we have supported increases all the time as we receive new suggestions.

As well as the donations we make to charities as a result of people giving us small, unwanted holdings of shares, we also work closely with individual donors and charities to help with larger share donations. For Important Information for Fundraisers, click here.

"What is so special about ShareGift is that everybody benefits. It is a business solution to a business problem and has created a brand new stream of funding for charities."
